The ibis mascot celebrating fun, fitness, community and lifelong enjoyment through Masters Swimming Queensland
Binny the ibis (also known as a bin chicken) grew up exploring Queensland's parks, rivers and beaches. Curious and always looking for something new, he followed the sound of splashing and discovered the pool. Swimming quickly became his favourite place to be.
In the water he found fitness, confidence, friendship and a sense of belonging. Today Binny stands for fun, fitness, community and lifelong enjoyment through Masters Swimming Queensland.

Fun, Curiosity, Adventure and Reward
Golden Binny is the rarest and most adventurous version of Binny. While the other Binnys each represent a part of the swimming journey, Golden Binny represents the spirit behind it all: fun, curiosity, exploration and the joy of discovering something new.
According to the story, Golden Binny first appeared when Binny followed a bright reflection across the pool deck at sunrise. Every step seemed to shine a little more, and by the time he reached the water's edge his feathers glowed like gold. Golden Binny has been a symbol of reward and adventure ever since.
The Golden Binny Trail invites swimmers, supporters and friends to explore participating locations, follow clues and discover where Golden Binny is hiding. Finding a Golden Binny pin is a small treasure and a reminder that you are part of the wider MSQ community.
The Binny Pin collection features four core designs and one rare special edition. Members and friends can collect the pins at clubs, events, partner stores and along the Golden Binny Trail, using them as reminders to stay active, stay connected and enjoy swimming for life.
