Championship Guidelines

All competitors must be members of Masters Swimming Australia. International swimmers must be members of their World Aquatics affiliated national masters swimming organisation for 2026 (proof of membership must be provided).

Age is calculated as of 31 December 2026. Minimum age is 18 years of age, as of the entry closing date.

Swimmers may enter up to thirteen (13) individual events, with no more than four (4) individual swims per day. A limit of two (2) 400m events per individual.

MC swimmers are welcome to compete in this meet. The management of MC results is TBC.

Warm-up will commence at 8:00AM daily. The competition pool will close at 8:45AM, with additional lanes remaining open throughout the duration of the day’s session for warm-up and swim down.

Follow the directions of pool staff and Technical Officials for allocated pool and lane use.

Competition will begin at 9:00AM each day.

Swimmers may start from the blocks, pool edge, or in the water.

Follow the Referee's whistle and be ready at the "Take your marks" command. At the finish, touch the pad firmly, move back, and exit via the side ladder — never climb over the timing pad.

Backstroke ledges will be available for use.

Clubs may enter as many relay teams as they wish in an event, but only one team per age group (the designated “A” team) is eligible for points and awards.

Relay change forms must be submitted by 9 AM on the day of the swim. Changes may be made to relay teams provided the team’s age group does not change. Relay change sheets will be available at the information desk.

Relay swimmers 1–3 must exit the water promptly to avoid interfering with the incoming swimmer.
